In One Week, Gunmen Kill 24 Nigerian Police Officers 

Nigerian security forces have been the worst hit by last week’s killings across the country.

80 percent of those killed during the week were said to be police officers. 

RFI Hausa reports that at one instance 20 of the 30 people killed last week were government security personnel, while 4 were vigilantes volunteering to provide security. 

The report also cited another instance where out of 20 security officers, 16 were police officers, including officers from the National Rehabilitation Agency and an officer from the National Drug Enforcement Agency. 

The incident according to the report took place last week, in which 18 police officers and six soldiers were killed by gunmen. 

Four regions of Nigeria, namely the south-west and south-south were not being reported to have recorded some casualties.
