Between January to November this year, health authorities in Bauchi State said over 2000 new cases of HIV/AIDS were recorded across the state.
WikkiTimes gathered that this is the highest figure detected ever in Bauchi state.
Dr Sabi’u Abdu Gwalabe, Bauchi State Commissioner of Health, said this in Bauchi during the commemoration of World HIV/AIDS Day.

He said already about 98% of new positives were since enrolled into treatment across various centres in the state.
The Commissioner called on the people of the State to ensure frequent checks on their HIV/AIDS status to avert the spreading of the disease further and to be able to manage it properly.
Dr Gwalabe said HIV/AIDS testing and drugs are given free to people in all government-owned health facilities in the state.
