INEC Presents Certificates of Return to Govs, Assembly Members-elect Wednesday

Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will, on Wednesday, present certificates of return to victorious candidates who contested in the just-concluded governorship and house of assembly election held last Saturday.

Festus Okoye, the National Commissioner and Chairman Information and Voter Education Committee of the commission, in a statement, said the decision followed a meeting they held yesterday.

He explained that the decision is in line with the provision of the 2022 electoral act that mandated the commission to issue a certificate of return within 14 days to every candidate declared winner.
