Bauchi StateGovernment has assured people living with disability of its commitment towards alleviating
their sufferings.BalaAbdulkadir Mohammed, governor of the state gave the assurance while receivingmembers of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities atgovernment house Bauchi on the celebration of this year’s International Day ofPeople with Disabilities.
Representedby the Deputy Chairman, People’s Democratic Part in the state, Bala Hadis, GovernorBala said to cater for their needs, his administration will consider restoringthe agency for People with disabilities.
GovernorBala Mohammed who pledged to come up with programmes that will benefit them saidhis administration will accord them sense of belonging in order to addresstheir concerns.
Members ofthe group who spoke during the courtesy visit applauded the governor for givingthe desired attention to education sector in the state.
They appealto the state government to look into the possibility of restoring the agencyfor people with disabilities so as to overcome their challenges.
