Bauchi State Government has assured people living with disability of its commitment towards alleviating their sufferings.
Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, governor of the state gave the assurance while receiving members of the Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities at government house Bauchi on the celebration of this year’s International Day of People with Disabilities.
Represented by the Deputy Chairman, People’s Democratic Part in the state, Bala Hadis, Governor Bala said to cater for their needs, his administration will consider restoring the agency for People with disabilities.
Governor Bala Mohammed who pledged to come up with programmes that will benefit them said his administration will accord them sense of belonging in order to address their concerns.
Members of the group who spoke during the courtesy visit applauded the governor for giving the desired attention to education sector in the state.
They appeal to the state government to look into the possibility of restoring the agency for people with disabilities so as to overcome their challenges.
