Reverend Murtala Mati Dangora, the priest of Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Church in Kano State has said Jesus Christ might resurrect anytime soon.
The Christians are holding celebrations after finishing the prayers and remembering the day when it was announced that the Romans had crucified Jesus on Friday.
Today, Christians around the world celebrate Easter Monday, to commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as the believers believe. Dangora, in a chat with BBC Hausa, said Easter Monday is a day of joy that every Christian should respect.
He said that the resurrection of Jesus Christ proves that there is a day when every human who died will rise.
When he was asked when Jesus Christ will return, Dangora said all the signs that Jesus revealed about the time of his coming back have already appeared.
He said: “His disciples (Jesus) asked him when will you return? What are the signs of the end times?”
The cleric listed the signs of the end times that Jesus revealed to include:
- People’s love will grow cold
- You will see a war between nations
- Peace will be less
- There will be quarrels between mother and daughter, between father and son
But Jesus did not say the specific day and time when he will return to earth, said Dangora, adding the aforementioned signs are the ones that show that Jesus Christ is about to return.
“There are no signs of the end of time that Jesus said that are not certain, because we are waiting today or tomorrow…,” he said.
