Members of Muryar Matan in Jigawa State have received assurances of assistance from Hadiza Namadi, the wife of Jigawa State governor, in their fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
She stated that the state government has plans to set up an agency against GBV. Hadiza stated this when she met with a delegation of the organisation that visited Government House, Dutse, yesterday.
She asserts that the government places a high priority on the state’s development and commends the team for its dedication to end GBV.
According to the first lady, if the agency were to be established, it would prioritise problems related to human trafficking, the rehabilitation of the poor, and enhancements to orphanages and the Tsangaya system.
The delegation from the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Dutse, led by Maryam Ibrahim, stated that they visited the Government House to ask the first lady for her assistance and blessings in establishing the agency.
