Jigawa Police Nabs 2 Kidnappers, Rescues Victim

Men of Jigawa State Police Command have arrested Abdulrazak Musa and Hassan Jimau, both suspected kidnappers in Nisan Marke village of Ringim local council.

This also led to the rescue of a 45-year-old kidnapped victim, Muhammed Sama’ila, according to the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Lawan Shiisu Adam.

Adam in a statement said: “Their arrest was based on an intelligent report that, a 45 year old man Muhammad Sama’ila of Madari village, Warawa LGA, Kano State was seen motion less with machete cuts all over his body.

“On receiving the information, a team of policemen swung into action, visited the scene of crime and conveyed the victim to hospital.”

He explained that the victim revealed that he was kidnapped from Madari Village in Warawa LGA of Kano State and taken to herders’ settlement in Nisan Marke.

Adam said the police, in conjunction with a local vigilante group, raided the suspected kidnappers’ hideout at Nissan Marke in Ringim LGA, and arrested two suspected kidnappers.

He said the suspects confessed to have abducted the victim with eight other gang members — now at-large.

However, the police spokesman said the case is under investigation and effort is on top gear to trace other gang members.

The Commissioner of Police, in the state, Aliyu Sale Tafida, further urged the public to always avail police with credible and reliable information at the right time.
