The Joint National Association of Persons with Disabilities, (JONAPWD)Bauchi State Chapter, has demanded a probe into alleged assault on its fomer Chairman, Hamza Waziri.
JONAPWD also condemned physical molestation of Mr. Waziri who is a former chairman of the State Agency for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the state.
WikkiTimes reports that the Police in Bauchi have molested Mr. Waziri at the Bauchi State Government House during #endbadgovernance protest in the state.
Bauchi State government has ordered investigation into the incident where Mr. Waziri who is the chair of the Initiative for the Liberalization of Physically Challenged People in Bauchi was brutalized.
A statement by the Planning and Organizing Secretary of the (JONAPWD) on behalf of the chairman, called on the Nigeria Police to investigate the matter and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The statement said the Association remains committed to advocating for the rights and welfare of persons with disabilities and will continue to engage with relevant stakeholders to ensure their needs were met.
The statement observed that through dialogue and collaboration, Nigerians can create equitable and inclusive society where the rights of all individuals, particularly the most vulnerable, are recognized and safeguarded.
