Al’ameen said this in Bauchi on Tuesday while addressing a press conference.

“I narrowly escaped death in the hands of the gunmen.

“I was coming from Bauchi to Abuja, we are approaching Akwanga. “At the roundabout next to the filling station, the car just resurfaced again, they ambushed us, they blocked our vehicle and open fire when I heard a shot and I heard a bang on my car.

“We stopped one of them open our car and entered pointing his gun, and asked our driver to drive, but I said to the driver don’t move, with Allah’s help he obeyed me and refused to start the car, they are looking at the time they seized our phones, took away my briefcase and some of our personal belongings and left,” he said

Al’ameen explained that his attackers were probably not comfortable with the location where they attacked him, thus they opted to banished after seizing his belongings.

“They are afraid we are on roundabout even though they scared people away but since it was a busy road many vehicles will also come, that’s what saves us,” the former Bauchi governorship aspirant said.

He expressed shock over the shooting at his vehicle, adding that it was an orchestrated attempted to attempt to either assassinate or kidnap him.

WikkiTimes recalls that unknown gunmen ransacked the residence of Senior Special Assitant to Bauchi State Governor on Christian Religious Affairs, Pastor Zaka Magaji. The attackers injured one person in the process.
