Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Thursday dissolved members of his cabinet which include commissioners and special advisers.
The Secretary to the State Government, Barrister Ibrahim Kashim announced this while briefing journalists on the outcome of a valedictory session of the State Executive Council at the Council Chambers, Government House, Bauchi. He said the dissolution is with immediate effect.
The SSG said the dissolved portfolios include senior special assistants, special assistants, personal assistants and other political appointess heading various ministries, departments and agencies of government.
He, however, said the Secretary to the State Government, Chief of Staff and the Principal Private Secretary retained their position till the inauguration period.
According to Barrister Ibrahim Kashim, during the meeting, Governor Mohammed thanked the outgoing cabinet members for their positive contributions towards the successes achieved by his administration in the first tenure.
Governor Mohammed, according to Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) emerged victorious after a gubernatorial election conducted in March. He had defeated Sadique Baba Abubakar of All Progressives Congress (APC) to rule the state for another four years.
Although his victory is being challenged at tribunal sitting in the state.
