Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has signed the state’s 2025 budget of N467,855,248,317.12kb into law.
WikkiTimes reports that Governor Mohammed had in late November this year presented the 2025 budget bill proposal to the Bauchi State House of Assembly for consideration and passage.
The governor said the signed budget takes effect from the 1st of January 2025.
He commended members of the House for their commitment to the review of the proposal submitted leading to the final approval of the 2025 budget.
Governor Mohammed said the 2025 budget represent the bold mission of his administration to the development of the State.
He assured that other sources of revenue would be leveraged to optimize budget performance of the state.
Speaker of the House, Abubakar Sulaiman said after all the necessary legislative procedure and review of the budget, the Assembly marked up the budget from over N465bn to N467bn to accommodate developmental needs of the state.
He said the House increased the budget size by about N2bn
He said the House through various committees meticulously reviewed the proposal to ensure that adequate resources are allocated to all sectors.
Sulaiman said the increment reflects transparency and oversight function of the legislative arm.
