UPDATED: For Jumping Court Order, IGP Bags 3 Months Jail Term

A Federal High Court in Abuja earlier today sentenced Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, to three months in prison for disobeying a court order, but the Nigeria Police Force argues otherwise.

The presiding judge, Justice Mobolaji Olajuwon, according to Channels TV, issued the order following a suit filed by a former police officer, Patrick Okoli who claimed he was unlawfully and compulsorily retired from the Nigeria Police Force.

Reacting, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO) told WikkiTimes the order was issued in 2011 and not against the current IGP.

“Not Usman Alkali, the order was issued in 2011
Anyway i will react officially soon,” he said.
