The Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) has petitioned Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Alkali, to immediately investigate and “possibly” prosecute the suspended Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Ynusa Hudu Ari.
INEC disposed this via a Twitter post, Tuesday. WikkiTimes learnt that the tweet cam shortly after the commission held a meeting with its national commissioners in Abuja.
INEC said it “requested the Secretary to the Government of the Federation to draw the attention of the appointing authority to the unwholesome behaviour of the REC for further action.”
According to the commission, collation of results will resume “at a time to be determined by the Returning Officer.”
