JUST IN: Nigerian Journalist, Agba Jalingo Remanded in Prison for Alleged Cyberstalking

Agba Jalingo, a Nigerian journalist would spent four days behind bars starting today till Thursday when Federal High Court in Abuja will rule over cyberstalking litigation against him.

The presiding judge, Justice Zainab Bage Abubakar, remanded the journalist to Kuje prison earlier today, WikkiTimes learnt.

Punch reported that Justice Abubakar allegedly denied Jalingo’s lawyers the opportunity to move a motion for bail after he was arraigned for cyberstalking.

The journalist was accused of defaming Elizabeth Ayade, wife of Frank Ayade, who is a brother of Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade.

In 2019, Jalingo who publishes CrossRiverWatch was arrested over a report detailing how Governor Ayade diverted N500 million belonging to the state.
