Just In: One Killed, Four Persons Injured, Houses Burnt In Bauchi

At least one person was reportedly killed with four others injured and scores of houses burnt in the wake up of the renewed hostilities in Yelwan Tsakani, a suburb f Bauchi metropolis.

Residents reported sustained gunshots throughout Friday night, a development that caused panic in the area and collapsed business activities.

The latest violence comes barely a week after blasphemous violence erupted in Warji leaving scores of people injured and houses burnt.

SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil, Police Public Relations Officer Bauchi State Command confirmed the incident to reporters in Bauchi.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the disturbances emanate following a rivalry amongst the youths of Anguwan Taya, and Yalwan Tsakani which extended to other parts of Yelwa. As a result, five houses were set ablaze, four persons sustained various degrees of injuries and one was certified dead by a medical doctor,” the statement read in parts.
