Last week, Commissioner of Education, Dr Aliyu Usman Tilde, announced the partitioning of secondary schools in the state according to sex. Further, it defers attendance time for the students in some locations.

The protest is coming today (Monday) just hours after schools reopen in Bauchi after end of session holiday to commence a new academic session.

When contacted, the Information Officer Bauchi State Ministry of Education Malam Kafi denied having any knowledge about the protest, adding that ‘you are just informing me about the protest for the first time.’
