Some scores of people are feared to have been killed by bandits in an attack logged on Kukawa, Gyambawa, Karam and Dungur communities of Kanam local government area of Plateau State.
WikkiTimes gathered that properties were damaged in the process of the Sunday morning bout.
Some residents of the communities who spoke to our reporter on the condition of anonymity said that the assailants shot sporadically unopposed.
Some of the villagers were left hurt in the wake of the assaults.
Mr Sulaiman Idris, Special Adviser to Kanam local government chairman confirmed the attack, saying that security operatives were mobilised to the affected communities.
He said that the council chairman has ordered Kanam Security and Emergency Management Agency to provide immediate assistance to the victims of the attack.
However, Gabriel Ubah, Police Public Relations Officer Plateau State Command did not respond to the calls and SMS sent through his phone number as of press time.
