Kaduna Man Kills Own Brother After Collecting Ransom from Family

Kaduna State Police Command says it has arrested one Ismail Mohammed for killing his biological brother, Kabiru Mohammed, after collecting a ransom of N120,000 from the family.

The brothers hail from Maijere village near Saminaka in Lere Local Government Area.

Spokesman for the command, Mohammed Jalige explained that 502 other suspects were apprehended by the police in the state for various offenses, including banditry, armed livestock rustling, culpable murder, vandalism of rail tracks, and other related crimes.

According to the police, the suspects were apprehended between May and June 2023 from different parts of the state.

He reveals that nine stolen vehicles of various types, four AK-47 rifles, three revolver pistols, two pump action guns, 2,800 pairs of railway slippers, and nine other weapons were recovered from the suspects.

One hundred and twenty-nine AK-47 live rounds, two tricycles, 229 rusted calves, and eight sheep were among the livestock recovered from the suspects.

The police spokesperson said the apparent calm and serenity now enjoyed in Kaduna State is evidence that the command is doing all in its power to safeguard the lives and property of the residents.
