Geng Quangrong, a Kano-based Chinese national who killed his Nigerian ex-lover will stand behind the bars at the Kurmawa Medium Security Custodial Center pending his rearraignment before the court.
The Kano State Magistrate Court 30, made the ruling earlier today when the foreigner was arraigned before Magistrate Hanif Sanusi Ciroma.

The Nigeria Police charged Quangrong for culpable homicide under section 221 of the penal code for killing a 23-year-old Ummulkulthum Buhari in Janbulo area, on Friday night.
Apart from mudering, the foreigner was accused of tresspassing.
The deceased and accused were said to have dated before the former got married to another man.
Guangdong, according to reports had spent much on the deceased, hoping to get married to her. However, he felt cheated when the deceased dumped him to marry another man.
In what seemed like avenging betrayal, Quangrong butchered his ex-lover.

However, the posecution Counsel, Barrister Khalifa Auwal Hashim, at the court today, requested that the accused be remanded in prison facility pending a legal advisory from the Kano State Ministry of Justice.
Quangrong will be rearraigned on October 13, WikkiTimes learnt.
