The member of the House of Representatives representing the Fagge Federal Constituency, Muhammad Bello Shehu (MB Shehu), has empowered 70 constituents with motorcycles and freezers as part of his effort to improve their lots.
The lawmaker has also started the reconstruction of Sabo Garba Hospital at the constituency to address difficulty in accessing basic healthcare.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, MB Shehu noted that he is committed to empowering his people while bringing solutions to the healthcare challenges.
At least 20 youths in the constituency were supported with motorcycles while 50 women were supported with freezers and a startup capital of N50,000 each.
“Having understood the importance of healthcare facilities, especially in the rural communities where mostly women and children die of negligence due to lack of proper or conducive health facilities, I am committed to the construction of the Sabo Garba Hospital.
“Before now, there were many calls for the construction of the hospital, but many were abandoned despite its significant value to the people, but I will celebrate the milestone with you, my constituency, for giving me the mandate to deliver …to provide solutions to many issues for the betterment and welfare of all,” he stated.
According to him, similar projects and empowerment will continue to flow to the constituency.
“We are building hope and trust with the masses, who have long stated losing hope in leaders in the country,” he added.
A beneficiary of the intervention, Musa Salisu, commended the lawmaker for the support, which he said will impact his life positively.
“I believe what we witness today will serve as an example to the leaders in this country. For this empowerment, we see and understand what inclusion and financial support are. More youth and women will now engage in business, which will help in curtailing insecurity and alleviating poverty. Indeed, we are honored by this project and support,” he added.
Another beneficiary, Hadiza Muhammad, thanked the member for the initiative and urged other lawmakers to emulate.
