The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the mobile court of the agency, convicted the offenders arrested across the state during its sitting on Thursday.
This is contained in a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the agency, Abubakar Ibrahim in Kano.
He said the convicts, comprising motorists and tricycle operators, were fined after being found guilty of disobeying traffic signals at designated light points.
The agency’s image-maker said a mobile court session, held along Kwanar Sabo Junction, Maiduguri Road, Airport, presided over by Senior Magistrate Hauwa Abba convicted the offenders.
Ibrahim quoted Abba as admonishing the personnel of the agency to be honest in the discharge of their duties and responsibilities in the state.
Speaking on the conviction, the Managing Director of KAROTA, Mr Faisal Kabir, commended the magistrates for the sacrifice and commitment to assist the agency in checkmating rampant cases of traffic violations by motorists and tricycle operators plying the roads.
He also appreciated other security agencies on the patrol team for their zeal and dedication, which he said, facilitated the success of the trial.
