The member representing Katagum constituency in the House of Representatives Umar Abdaulkadir Sarki, has received honorary awards by some organizations for his outstanding performances in the National Assembly less than a year in office.
Sarki was honored by Jama’atul Tajdidul Islam group and Islamiyya School in Azare for the meritorious achievements he has so far recorded.

The organizations particularly honoured the lawmaker for his youth and women empowerment programmes as well as other initiatives aimed at improving the lives of vulnerable members of the society.
In an address at the occasion a traditional title holder, Alhaji Bashar Kabir Umar ( The Danmajen Katagum), said the conferment of the award on Honorable Sarki is based on his laudable services to the good people of Katagum and his passion and support for students.

In a remark, the lawmaker assured people of his commitment to serve them, diligently throughout his tenure.
The lawmaker thanked the organisations for finding him worthy of such a prestigious Awards of Excellence.
According to the lawmaker, a lot of Projects and Empowerment Programs are in the pipeline, saying his victory at the court of appeal gave him more impetus to execute his mandate.
Umar Sarki Abdulkadir dedicated the award to people of his constituency whom he said gave him their mandate as trust adding that he sees the award as a mark of confidence and a challenge to rededicate himself to serving them.
