When contacted, Nafiu Abubakar, spokesman for Kebbi State Police Command said the police are not aware of the incident. “We are not aware,” he said. “But we will find out.”
WikkiTimes had reported that 11 girls kidnapped from the college are still in captivity and they risk being married off by terrorists who abducted them. Notably, one of the captives, Farida Kaoje, was forcefully married to a bandit leader, Dogo Gide.
The attack which rocked the college in June 2021, led to the abduction of at least 70 students and four teachers. During the attack, two students sustained injuries as a police officer on a distress call paid the supreme price.
Subsequently, a few of the victims were rescued immediately after a counter-attack by security forces. Others were released by the bandits after stiff ransom negotiations with their family members.
