Hon. Zacheous Michael, the Caretaker Committee Chairman of Kabba Bunu Local Government Area in Kogi State, has escaped from the den of kidnappers.
Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped the the local council boss in Kogi.
The Police Public Relations Officer, William Ayah, confirmed the incident, stating that Michael and some of his aides were abducted on Friday night along the Kabba/Okene road.
Zacheous Michael was adopted as the sole candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Kabba local government in the forthcoming council election slated for October 19.
However, Ayah on Sunday said Michael had regained his freedom, while his aides remained in captivity.
“We are pleased to share that the CTC Chairman, who was abducted by unknown assailants on the Kabba-Okene Expressway on August 2, 2024, has been safely released,” he told Channel TV.
