Kwara Customs command generates over N1 billion in revenue within 3 months

The Nigeria customs service, Kwara state command says it has generated over N1 billion in revenue into the Federation account within 3 months.

The command’s public relations officer, Chado Zakari in a statement said; “the Nigeria Customs Service, Kwara Area Command under the leadership of Comptroller Ahmed Hussaini Bello fsi has taken a giant stride by generating a whooping sum of One Billion, Two Hundred and Seventy Million, Nine Hundred and Seven Thousand, Eight Hundred and Sixty Naira Seventy Two Kobo (N 1, 270, 907,860.72) into federation account.

The statement says Hussaini Bello who is the pioneer command head in Kwara was determined to meeting the expectations of Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Hameed Ali on revenue generation and guard against smuggling of unwanted products into the country.

“Three months into the assumption of duty, Compt. Ahmed has started on the right foot by keying into the 3Rs of Controller General of Customs whose aim is to boost revenue geeration”.

The command says the success it attained on revenue generation was due to strategic policies and plans put in place, especially by defiant stakeholders comply with the extant laws.

The command also said it was making efforts to boost local rice production by making “our territories unfavorable for rice smugglers and other prohibited items.”
