Lawmaker Representing Atiku Constituency Dumps PDP, Embraces Kwankwaso’s NNPP

Prior to his defection, Hammatukur Yattasuri was the Majority leader, Adamawa State House of Assembly, representing Jada Local Government under the People’s Democratic Party PDP – the constituency of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the flagbearer of the party for 2023 polls.

He defected from his old party to the New Nigeria Nigeria People’s Party NNPP, a party led by the former Kano State Governor and its forerunner Dr. Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso.

Speaking at a ceremony in Yola on Tuesday, Yattasuri said that he defected to the new party to serve his people better.

The lawmaker promised to ensure more dividends of democracy to the people of his constituency if elected as a member of the House of Representatives on the platform of his new party.

Receiving the decamped lawmaker, Hamman Ribadu, North East Secretary of the NNPP, described the lawmaker’s decision to defect to the party as a big catch for the NNPP. He said that Yattasuri has joined the party at the right time, assuring him of all necessary support.

Commending Hon. Yattasuri, Alhaji Saidu Salmana, the NNPP Chairman, Jada Local Government Area chapter, described him as an honest man who has good character and mass followership.
