Leverage on the Skills You Acquired During Service Year, NYSC Tells Outgoing Corps Members

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has called on the outgoing corps members to leverage on the skills they acquired during the service year to engage themselves.

The Bauchi State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rifkatu Yakubu, made the call while presenting Certificates of National Service to the outgoing Corps members in Bauchi.

A total of 1,393 Corps members from the 2023 Batch C Stream One, comprising 881 males and 512 females, who served in the State received their Certificates after successfully completing the mandatory one-year service to their fatherland.

Mrs Yakubu urged Corps members across the country to build on the skills acquired through the Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) training they received while in camp, especially in light of the current economic challenges in the country.

She congratulated them on the successful completion of their service year and advised them against embarking on night journeys while returning to their various destinations.

Mrs. Yakubu emphasized the importance of breaking long journeys into two parts to avoid traveling at night, advising that such precautions would ensure their safety.

She further warned the Corps members to steer clear of social vices, noting that the consequences could affect not only themselves but also their families, their alma mater, and the NYSC itself.

At the ceremony, Kaan Martina Seerdoon was recognized with an Award of Merit for her dedication to service.
