Idrissa Muhammadu, a resident of Mayo-renewo in Hong local council area of Adamawa state is facing a murder trial before a magistrate count in the state for alldgely killing his rival, Adamu Zumdi over a girl friend tussle.
WikkiTimes gathered that there had been a frequent battle over the girl (name withheld), prior to the recent incident.
The duo clashed recently and Adamu sustained a machete cut. He would be rushed to General Hospital in Hong for medical attention where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor.
Subsequently, Muhammadu was arraigned before Chief Magistrate Muhammed Buba. He pleaded guilty to the alleged offense, which contravenes section 191 of the Penal Code law, 2018.
The police prosecutor, Inspector S. S. Nicholas told the court that the father of the deceased, Alhaji Jobdi Song reported the matter to the police.
Magistrate Buba said the defendant was arraigned on one count charge of culpable homicide and ruled that he should be detained pending legal advice from the State Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
