The Gombe state Police command has assured residents of a peaceful and hitch free celebration ahead of Monday Maulud celebrations.
The state commissioner of Police CP Hayatu Usman disclosed this in a statement on Sunday while congratulating Muslim faithful for witnessing another year of celebrating the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
CP Usman directed all area commanders, divisional Police officers, tactical commanders and motor traffic departments to deploy adequate personnel, resources and intelligence strategies throughout the festive period.
While calling on residents to remain vigilant and desist from involvement in any act of misconduct, he also called on religious leaders to pray for prevailing peace in the state.
