The very essence of myletter to you, is to remind you of your primary assignment of representing usin the hallow chamber of the National Assembly among other things; to make lawfor order and good governance of Nigeria, protecting our rights and keeping thiscountry economically, socially, politically, religiously  and morally sound.

It is also your solemnresponsibility to oppose any inciting statements that may trigger violence or atreat to our peaceful coexistence in this country “Nigeria”.

All Nigeriansirrespective of our religious or cultural diversity agree to be brothers, helpone another in times of needy, support one another, play with one another, dineand wine with one another, drink & eat from same plates and cups.

This is a true definitionof togetherness and unity.

But to my greatestsurprise, very recently, a video goes viral in the social media were a servingsenator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is quoted to have portrayed Northernersas those who cannot speak good English language.

The senator claimed that“If care is not properly taken, in time to come, the Northerners might sendrepresentatives that cannot even speak in English”.

This is verydisheartening, very scary and insulting statement.

Even though there may be,an element of truth in that assertion, yet no senator from my Northern statesstand up against his submissions with a decisive evidence of the contributionsof the likes of  Late Sule Yari Gandi ofblessed memory, Late Mal Ali Wakili of blessed memory, Late Bashir Mustapha ofblessed memory, our very own Professor Jibrin Aminu, the vocal and eloquentSenator Abdul Ningi, the outspoken Shehu Sani, the mighty Oloye Saraki and thevoice of Northern senators Dino Melaye.

All the aforementionedSenators served this country with honor, commitment, loyalty and dedication toservice.

Northern Nigerian has someof  the finest speakers, but none amongthem muster the boldness to squarely addressed the allegations of SenatorsRochas Okorocha! Congratulations to all of you for your failure to protect ourimage, our identity, our heritage & symbolic identity as “Northerners” .

You all have proved to usthat we should individually and collectively stand up and defend the north nomatter what it takes, since you have lost the capacity to do that for us.

Most of you attendedschools far beyond his knowledge, but all of you remained mute and busycompeting with each other in buying houses, foreign trips, monetary investmentand buying the most expensive cars or chattering private jets for your events.

The number of out schoolchildren is rapidly increasing, with over 70% of that population residing inthe North.

Today, celebrities in theNorth are taken over your responsibility in supporting the less privilegedstudents to pursue their dream in Education.

Congratulations to Supereagles captain Ahmed Musa, Munirat Sulaiman Tanimu of Green Heart ImpactFoundation, Actress Rahama Sadau, Director Adam Zango and many more for allthey did in impacting the lives of the less privileged, by invested in ourpotential young men and women in various levels of educational endeavors.

Wallahi posterity willsurely judge you of your actions. It is a demon that will come back and huntyou down.

Mine is to advise! Yours is to take action. We both need each other to change narratives.

In the end, I pray andhope that God almighty will give you the strength, wisdom and ability to matchmy advice with a decisive actions and change the narratives in the North.
