Moves to recall Senator Bulkachuwa thickens as group writes Katagum emirate

Constituents from Bauchi north senatorial district have intensified moves to recall Senator Adamu Muhammad Bulkacuwa from the upper chamber of the national assembly.

This was contained in a letter sent to Katagum emirate council and made available to WikkiTimes by Katagum Focus Frontiers, a group “concerned for social and democratic right addressed to His Royal Highness, Emir of KatagumAlhaji Umar Farouq II.

The letter dated 15th June 2020 jointly signed by Chairman of the group, Sa’idu Ibrahim Chinade, Secretary of the group, Muhammad Isah Yuguda Jama’are and Public Relations Officer of the association, Ibrahim Tukur Zaki, alleged that Senator Bulkachuwa exhibited attributes of insincerity and nonchalant attitude towards the plights of his people despite being their representative.

“With due respect to your traditional and cultural office as emir of Katagum, we write this letter to address and intimate you about the insincerity and nonchalant attributed  by one of your cabinet members, SarkinBai of Katagum, Senator AdamuBulkachuwa, expressed in his unguarded and unguided actions”, the group writes.

“To KatagumFocus Frontiers, Senator Bulkachuwa show no sympathy for the plights of Bauchi north senatorial constituents during the COVID-19 pandemic as the zone saw hike in the number of deaths over the last two months. Though Bauchi State health officials say the deaths were unconnected to COVID-19.

“Senator Bulkacuhwa showed no concern for the effects of the hardship people are going through, our senator has not shown any concern with regards to easing the sufferings of his constituents.”

The Katagum Frontiers also fingered Senator Bulkachuwa for not executing any constituency project in the zone. “No iconic presence or projects from his is sighted.”

“These simple prayers have been denied by senator Bulkachuwa. “He has disappeared into rat and cat game, evidently deserted his constituency for over seven months,” the group adds.

The group maintained that “it is too puerile or, better put, too self-centred and absolutely disdainful for the senator and traditional title holder from a first class emirate to make any kind of actions that lead to breach of trust and incisive actions against the laid background of Sheikh Fodio.”

The group said it is based on these that they write His Royal Highness, Alhaji Umar Farouq to socialise him about their plans.

The group had also sent similar correspondence to Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawal.

In a letter dated June 10th, 2020 and signed by its Chairman, Sa’idu Ibrahim Chinade, the group cited poor representation from Senator Bulkachuwa as prime reason that informed their decision to initiate the process of recalling the Senator.

WikkiTimes reports that the embattled Bulkachuwa started the running battle with his constituents following his suspension from the APC over “aggressive behavior and non-performance”.

At a press conference held at Azare, Bulkachuwa’s home town, Sa’adu Muhammad, the APC Chairman of Kafin Kuka Kofar Gabas ward, the political ward Bulkachuwa hails from described the senator as a disgrace to the APC.

Some of the party stalwarts who spoke at the conference attributed Bulkachuwa’s non-performance to old age.
