MSSN Condemns Exams Malpractice, Organises Four-Day Retreat For Bauchi Students In Azare

The Muslim Students Society of Nigeria, MSSN, Bauchi Area Unit has warned students to desist from indulging in all forms of exams malpractice attributing the menace to high moral decadence in Nigerian societies.

MSSN maintained prevalence of exams malpractice coupled with immorality require consolidated advocacy for sound moral values and the development of right attitudes through effective teaching of moral education in schools.

Barr. Khalil Abdullahi Ahmad stated this while speaking at the closing ceremony of a Four-day Annual Islamic Vacation Course, IVC, organized by MSSN, Bauchi Area Unit held at Government College Azare, Katagum Local government.

Barr. Khalil, a Legal Adviser to Abubakar Tafawabalewa University Teaching Hospital Bauchi, described exams malpractice as a social problem that has become a hard nut to crack, a hydra-headed problem that has defied all efforts geared towards its solution and thus, leading to decay in a moral background owing to poor parental upbringing.

He called on all and sundry to fear Allah and shun unwholesome and dastardly acts capable of destroying the fabrics of the society.

Speaking at the event, Bauchi Area Unit MSSN President Dr, Rabi’u Barau Bal, commended the effort of the Bauchi State Government at maintaining the relative peace and unity in the State and thus, Stressing that the efforts of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Muhammad Kauran Bauchi at restructuring the educational sector and other key sectors of the State is highly commendable.

Dr. Bal urged the state government to double its effort in reducing the number of out-of-school children as well as curving the menace of examination malpractice in our secondary and tertiary institutions, maintaining that the menace has a potential security danger in our youth.

He further used the medium and call on the general public to testify prayers for sustainable peace and security in the state and the country at large.

In his separate remark at the occasion, the Emir of Katagum Alhaji Umar Faruk II who was represented by the District Head of Azare Alhaji Magaji Abdulkadir Dahuwa, said education is a must for youth particularly at this time when technology drives the economy of the world.

He Further stated that seeking Knowledge, both Western and Islamic, has been part of the teachings of the Holy Prophet, therefore, becomes necessary for all Muslims to dedicate themselves to achieving academic excellence.

The Emire further called on parents to do all the necessary things they could to ensure their children are educated amid growing economic challenges in the country at the moment.

Also speaking, the Provost A.D Rufa’i College of Education, Legal and General Studies Misau, Dr. Auwal Ibrahim Amba, said educating youths to make them useful members of the society largely depends on how well parents play their role to inculcate proper moral upbringing of their children.

The program attracted over four hundred participants from various primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the state where lectures, Ta’alimat and classroom instructions were organised for them.
