Muslim Tweeps Chide Twitter Influencer Over Alleged Blasphemous Tweet

Muslims faithfuls on Twitter have accused popular social media influencer, B.O.D republic, of blasphemy following his Friday night tweet.

The tweet, which spurred mixed reactions on the microblogging platform, held that the influencer would give monetary gifts to anyone who has snapped a picture with the holy prophet of Islam.

“Ramadan giveaway Send aza if you don snap with Anobi before,” the tweet read.

The tweet fuelled rage, with many Muslim users reporting his page on twitter.

A twitter user, identified as @AM_Saleem called on the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) as well as State Security Services (SSS) to intervene and order the arrest of the accused.

Clout hurling hateful comments against the prophet of Islam, Muhammad (SAW) has always been met with rage by Muslims.

In May 2022, Deborah Yakubu, a second-year student of the Shehu Shagari College of Education in Sokoto State, was killed over alleged blasphemous comments against Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

The victim was stoned to death and her body burnt by a group of Muslim students of the college. The incident was greeted with condemnation by different rights groups.
