In 2022, the federal government allocated N127.5m for the construction of a small earth dam in Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, but the project is yet to commence, according to Tracka, a not-for-profit accountability organisation tracking public projects across the country.
WikkiTimes traced the budget document where the project was coded as ERGP202200834 and tagged: Construction of Small Earth Dam at Sakadadi, in Saabon Gari LGA Kaduna State. The budget document showed that it is a new project allocated at the rate of N127,500,000.
According to the project’s signpost at Sakadadi, Sabon Gari LGA, Kaduna State, the dam construction was sponsored by Garba Datti Muhammad, a federal lawmaker who represented Sabon Gari constituency in the 9th National Assembly.

The project’s post also revealed that was domiciled with the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and was awarded to Upper Niger River Basin Development Agency.
“N127.5m was allocated to the Construction of Small Earth Dam in Sabon Gari LGA, Kaduna, in the 2022 FG Budget,” Tracka tweeted. “We tracked and report that the project is yet to commence.”
The organisation called on the ministry and the agency to provide information on the status of the project.
