The All Progressive Congress, Bauchi State chapter has challenged Governor Bala Mohammed of the state to name “the Abuja politicians” bringing criminals into the state.
The APC in a press conference on Thursday at the APC Secretariat in Bauchi described the allegations by the governor that some politicians he described as “Abuja Politicians” were responsible for causing intermittent security reaches in the state as unfounded.
The State APC Chairman, Uba Nana, who disclosed this while briefing Journalists said Governor Bala’s allegations were a cunning attempt to cover up “the ineptitude of the administration.”
Mr Nana said the current administration led by Mr Mohammed was full of blunders, saying it was apparent that it was a failure.
Uba Nana accused the Governor of ignoring people’s welfare and plummeting the state into some sort of economic comatose.
“Let all APC members, people of Bauchi state and the general public know that enough is enough for the wise and we shall call a spade a spade. “Governor of Bauchi state made some unfounded allegations in his public address last week Tuesday, where he bluntly said, “I know some leaders of the state who are busy bringing criminals to the state. I will talk when the time comes, but certainly, we are not afraid of them.”
“While we categorically oppose and disapprove of the deliberate chicanery of the governor to divert attention, one would be quick to ponder.
“Who are these Abuja politicians, what are their names? What is the evidence or proofs, if any, to justify these allegations? Instead of media trial, why not brief the appropriate law enforcement agents to investigate and prosecute anyone found in connection with the alleged crime or are the allegations made for political reasons”, Mr Nana asked.
The APC Chairman called on the state governor to focus on his campaign promises instead of diverting public attention.
He said the opposition party will counter any attempt to divert public attention, adding the party “shall not succumb to any threat whatsoever.”
