Nigeria has been enveloped in a total blackout as the national electricity power grid collapsed again for the fourth time in 2024.
Checks on the website of Independent System Operator, an autonomous arm of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), power plants’ contribution to the grid began to drop around 2 pm to 2,797.16MW from the average 3,417.99MW around 1pm.

WikkiTimes gathered that the electricity contribution further dropped to 1,020.08 around 3pm before dramatically falling to 0.80 by 4pm. The remaining 0.80 was generated by the Trans-Amadi Power plant.
On the 4th of February 2024, the grid collapsed for the first time in 2024. It collapsed again on March 28th and April 15th, respectively.
