President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the 30-day National Youth Conference, aimed at engaging Nigeria’s youth to address the pressing challenges facing the nation.
Acknowledging that young people comprise over 60 per cent of Nigeria’s population, Tinubu emphasized the necessity of involving them as architects of their future.
“As we work to overcome the challenges of the day, we remain mindful of the next generation,” Tinubu stated. “We lead today with the future we wish to bequeath to our children in focus, recognizing that we cannot design a future that belongs to them without making them its architects.”
The conference, scheduled to last for 30 days, will serve as a platform for meaningful dialogue and collaboration among young Nigerians.
It aims to tackle critical issues such as education, employment, innovation, security, and social justice.
According to the President, the selection process for delegates will be carried out in close consultation with youth representatives, ensuring that the voices of young Nigerians are central to the discussions.
“We are creating a pathway for a brighter tomorrow by ensuring their voices are heard in shaping the policies that impact their lives,” Tinubu stressed, pledging that the government will carefully consider and implement the recommendations that emerge from the conference.
