Nigeria Institute of Public Relations pledges to strengthen nation’s democracy

Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) says it will foster synergy with relevant stakeholders to strengthening the country’s democratic system.

The National President of the Institute, Muktar Zubairu Sirajo gave the indication while addressing a Press Conference at NUJ Press Center Bauchi on his official visit to the State.

Muktar Sirajo said the Institute will use all Public Relations strategies at its disposal to ensure peaceful conduct of next year’s general elections in the country.

The NIPR National President called for the use of PR strategies as means of providing lasting solutions to development challenges affecting the geo-political zones of the country, particularly the north east.

He said the lingering insurgency in the north east of the country is linked to the illiteracy level of people in the region; adding that the National body of the Institute would soon organized an interactive session involving all the stakeholders in order to assist towards restoring the lost glory of the country.

On the challenges facing the Institute, the National President said already the Council has taken measures to prosecute anyone practicing the profession without fully registered with the NIPR.

Muktar Sirajo therefore expressed satisfaction for the cordial relationship existing between NIPR and NUJ in Bauchi State and called for its sustenance.

The State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Ibrahim Muhammad Malam Goje had earlier said NUJ is working with NIPR for professionalism among working Journalists in the state.

Also speaking, the State NIPR Chairman, Alhaji Kabir Ali Kobi requested the National Council of the Institute to look into the challenges affecting the non participation of members in national events.
