Nigeria’s Inflation: FCT Residents Loot Govt. Warehouse

Some residents of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have been reported as looting a warehouse reportedly belonging to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) of Nigeria over the current economic hardship across the country.

It was noted that the warehouse is situated in the Phase 3 Region of the FCT area of Abuja.

The FCT Police command, Josephine Adeh, verified the incident in a text message to PUNCH Newspaper, saying, “The situation is now under control.”

The NEMA has however been reported as denying that it’s warehouse was looted. The agency noted that its warehouse is intact, noting that the looted warehouse does not belong to it.

There have been protests against the rising cost of living in different parts of Nigeria. Although different state governments have promised to tackle the growing menace, the situation has continued without abating.

WikkiTimes reached out to the Police public relations officer in Abuja, Josephine Adejumo but is yet to get actual report of happenings , as she did not reply to our messages nor did she pick her calls as of the time of this report.
