NiMET Predicts Bauchi 2022 Rainy Season To Begin In May

The 2022 rainy season in Bauchi State has been predicted by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency, to start in May and end by October.

Data of the 2022 Seasonal Climate Report, SCP indicates that Bauchi will have four wet months that will see the state receive a significant volume of rainfall.

Mr Buba Sule, Bauchi State Meteorological Manager made this known on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said the total volume of rainfall the state is going to receive throughout the 2022 rainy season is moderate when a comparison is drawn between it and the volume of rain other Northern states are going to receive.

The Meteorological Manager said that Bogoro local government will have early onset of rainfall this season just as Bauchi metropolis will receive the highest volume of rainfall.

He advised government, as well as stakeholders to use the report to prepare all critical aspects including farming season, Healthcare and disaster management for the benefit of the populace.

WikkiTimes recalss that different scenes of flooding recorded in different parts of Bauchi State in 2021 killed 20 persons with 37 others injured and property projected to be worth one billion naira were destroyed.

Data from the Bauchi State Emergency Management Agency showed that all the 20 local government areas of the state were affected by the flood disaster in 2021.
