NITT Zaria’s 3-Day Trip to Boost Practical Insights in Traffic Management for Gombe Varsity Students

In a bid to enhance practical knowledge in traffic management, the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) Zaria’s Gombe liaison office has orchestrated a dynamic three-day annual trip for students at the Gombe State University of Science and Technology, Kumo.

Programme Coordinator Abdullahi Bappa, emphasising the trip’s educational significance, highlighted its role in augmenting the students’ grasp of real-world traffic management scenarios. He called upon the Gombe state government to support the institution, leveraging its position as a pivotal institute in the state to encourage enrollment of more local students.

Similarly, Gombe State Deputy Governor Manasah Daniel Jatau, lauded the Institute’s foresight in establishing the liaison office in Gombe. He underscored the potential for Gombe to evolve into a business hub within the North East region, particularly with the proposed cargo airport and strategic placement near the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park.

Former FCT Minister Aliyu Umar Modibbo expressed appreciation for the Institute’s initiative, pledging wholehearted cooperation for the institution’s development in the state.

The pinnacle of the event featured a tour to Gombe International Airport, Federal Road Safety Corp, Nigerian FlourMills, Solos Complex, Dadin Kowa Water Treatment Plant, and Nigerian Railway Corporation Gombe.

Abubakar Sadiq Ahmad, Head of the Gombe liaison office, led the visitation, accompanied by staff including Isah Jonga Hinna Coordinator DTL, and Mrs. Ruth Hamma, Public Relations Unit.

The excursion aimed at fostering a deeper understanding of practical aspects related to their field of study.
