NNPP’s Abba Wins Kano Gubernatorial Election

The gubernatorial candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) Abba Kabir Yusuf, has been declared winner of the governorship election in Kano State.

The collation officer for Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Kano Prof Ahmad Doko Ibrahim, announced that Yusuf polled 1,019,602 votes while his closet challenger of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Nasir Yusuf Gawuna finished runner up with 890,705 number of votes.

Sadiq Wali of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) emerged a distant third.

The margin between NNPP which is leading and being trailed by the APC stands at 128,897 votes.

NNPP won 30 LGAs while the ruling APC won 14 LGAs. The state has 44 LGAs.

Kano has total of 5,921,370 registered voters, out of which .. voters were accredited for the 18th March governorship election.

Meanwhile kano state governor declared curfew in the State.
