NPFL: Promotion of Niger Tornadoes, Gombe United Will Foster Unity Among FCs – Wikki, secretary.

Mr  Abdullahi Ibrahim, Secretary, Wikki Tourists Football Club (FC), Bauchi, has said that the promotion of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna and Gombe United of Gombe to the Nigeria Professional Football League, (NPFL) would foster unity among Northern Football Clubs.

“Sport unites nations and creates peace between regions, since each region wants to invite the other region to a competition and match. 

“This creates friendships between regions, sport builds similarity by bringing people to one place creating a similarity between people of things they like to do,” he said.

Ibrahim, who stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday, in Bauchi, added the the promotion secured by the two teams would foster unity among the FCs in the region.

He noted that the two clubs secured promotion to the top flight after they played out a 0-0 draw at the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8 competition on Saturday in Enugu.

The Wikki Tourists Secretary, who is also the National Vice Chairman, Nigeria Premier Football league Secretaries Forum, congratulated Gombe United FC and Niger Tornadoes over their qualification to NPFL.

He said the return of two clubs  back to Nigeria’s elite division football would strengthen the relationship and competitiveness of the league.

Ibrahim, however, urged the managements of the two clubs to stick to rules and policies of football to excel further. (NAN)
