The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted approval for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the Federal University of Kashere(FUK), Gombe State.
The University said all 43 academic programmes of the institution which forpresented during the October/November 2023 accreditation exercise have secured NUC’s approval.
This is contained in a press statement sent to WikkiTimes by Janet Ibrahim Ezekiel, the University’s Public Relations Officer, on Friday.
According to the statement, the approval was conveyed in an official NUC document addressed to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Umaru A. Pate.
“The breakdown of the results indicated that out of 43 Programmes presented, all the four (4) Postgraduate programmes earned Accreditation Status, 32 Undergraduate Programmes got full Accreditation, while 7 other Undergraduate Programmes had Interim Accreditation Status.
“It is important to note that by implication any Postgraduate Programme with Accredited Status and Undergraduate Programme with Full Accreditation will remain valid for five (5) years after which it will be presented for re-accreditation whereas, those with Interim Accreditation Status will last for two (2) years before re-accreditation,” the statement read.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Umaru A. Pate expressed his gratitude for the successful outcome and commended the efforts of all staff involved in the accreditation process.
“This achievement is a collective one, and it demonstrates our commitment to maintaining high academic standards,” Prof. Pate stated. He also called for continued support from the university staff as he aims to transform the institution into a premier citadel of learning.
Prof. Pate further pledged to continue to consolidate on successes recorded in transforming the university into a real citadel of learning.
The University has a total of 98 academic programmes, evenly split between postgraduate and undergraduate levels with full accreditation for all postgraduate programmes, 42 undergraduate programmes having full accreditation status and seven with interim accreditation status.
