Shortly after WikkiTimes report that highlighted how the National Universities Commission (NUC) retained names of dead people as its current Governing Board Chairman and Members in its website, the NUC has promptly removed the names, including those of late Professors Ayo Banjo and Sunday Bwala.
WikkiTimes has reported that the Board’s tenure had expired since 2021 following the end of their four-year tenure.
The former minister of education Adamu Adamu had inaugurated the Board in 2018 to oversee the affairs of the university regulatory agency which served only for four years.
The NUC’s website had retained list of late Professors Banjo and Bwala as well as Hon. Ubong Etiebet as current chairman and board members, even though their tenures expired in 2021.

He assured that the erroneous information would be corrected immediately.
When WikkiTimes later checked on the website, the NUC has since removed all the names of the board members and the chair.
