In what is seen as a public ridicule, Rivers State Governor Mr. Nyesom Wike has lampooned the governors of Benue and Bauchi States, Samuel Ortom and Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.
Mr Ortom was criticized for empowering graduates with wheel barrows as part of his poverty alleviation programs, while Mr Abubakar for hiring tractors to lure President Muhammadu Buhari for commissioning during a state working visit to Bauchi.
Mr Nyesom Wike was speaking on Friday at the inauguration of a newly constructed governor’s office built by Governor Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state.
Mr. Wike said in spite of the meager amount of resources at the disposal of the PDP governors, they were able to deliver meaningful projects unlike their APC Counterparts in many states.
“We are happy to be part of PDP states commissioning key projects unlike the APC states where wheel barrows, hired tractors and bags of mangoes are commissioned,” he was quoted to have said.
On hired tractors, Mr. Wike was directing his accusation to Bauchi state Governor Mr. Abubakar, who was alleged to have hired tractors and forced contractors to complete two kilometers road to get President Buhari commissions some projects in the state last month.
Wike said the performance of the Ekiti state Governor was in tandem with his belief in “massive development in line with the PDP manifesto”.
The governor said the APC led Federal government was no different from states governed by the party, which he said was full of deceptive promises
