NYSC Extends Service of 4 Corps Members in Katsina, Honours 6

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Katsina has announced the extension of service of four corps members from the 2024 Batch C Stream II.

The NYSC State Coordinator, Alhaji Ibrahim Sa’idu, confirmed this to newsmen in Katsina on Friday, saying that 806 corps members successfully passed out.

According to the coordinator, the service of the corps members was extended for various degrees of offences that contravened the NYSC by-laws.

“Among the passing out corps members, three outstanding members were given state recognition and were given awards.

“Another three who excelled during the service year were also given the State Coordinator’s recommendation letters,” Sa’id explained.

He further urged the corps members to leverage on the lessons gained during the in-camp training on the NYSC Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Development (SAED) programme.

The coordinator also advised them to establish themselves gainfully instead of being idle and waiting for government jobs that were no longer available.

While admonishing the corps members to be good ambassadors of the scheme and Nigeria, he encouraged them to educate their people against tribalism, reminding them that Nigeria is one united nation.

Sai’du advised them to start doing something with what they had learnt under the NYSC Post- camp SEAD training and not to procrastinate.
