One Dies As Truck Crashes Motorcycle In Bauchi

A fatal accident involving a motorcycle and a truck has claimed one person in Bauchi metropolis, according to the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) in the state.

The incident, WikkiTimes learnt, happened on Saturday evening along Jos road.

Yusuf Abdullahi, the Bauchi State Sector Commander of FRSC, confirmed the incident to the press, adding that the scene of the accident was not far from Zaranda Hotel.

According to him, the crash involved a Bajaaj commercial motorcycle (with registration number: SHR875 UV) carrying two passengers and a commercial tipper with XA 488 KED as its registration number. The motorcycle was driven by one Musa Saleh, he said.

“The fatal occurred near Zaranda Hotel along Bauchi – Jos road on Saturday, September 3rd, 2022 at about 4.30 pm and immediately, our men rushed to the scene within six minutes for a rescue operation,” said Abdullahi. “The crash involved a commercial motorcycle and a commercial tipper. Three male adults were involved in the incident.”

He added: “Our men evacuated the victims and rushed them to the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Bauchi, for treatment and confirmation. It was there that a medical doctor confirmed one person dead.”

The Sector Commander further said the two unhurt people were later discharged while the vehicle was removed from the scene and handed over to the GRA Divisional Police Headquarters.
