One Month After Declined Transaction, GTBank Yet to Refund Customer’s N40, 000 

Omoloye David, a 65-year-old Kano-based businessman, has faulted Guaranty Trust Bank for holding his N40, 000, one month after a declined transaction using a Point of Sale (PoS) inside a supermarket in Kano State.

The businessman told WikkiTimes he initiated the transaction on August 13, using a GTBank PoS. The transaction failed, but David’s account was debited.

“After numerous complaints to GTBank, I was told the money is still with the PoS operator. I went back to the POS operator, and after the transaction record, they told me the money is not in their position either,” David told WikkiTimes.

“After several visits and mails sent to the bank again, I was later told the issue has been resolved and my money would be refunded, but I am yet to receive it,” he added.

David explained that he also contacted the bank through its Twitter handle, yet no positive response.

At press time, GTBank has not responded to WikkiTimes’ enquiry.
