Kuda, a Nigerian fintech company is withholding N15,000 belonging to Destiny Ebibibowei Okutu, a student at Enugu State University.
Okutu told WikkiTimes the withheld money was a refund made to him by Jumia, an online shopping company in November 2022. He had purchased an earbud from the platform on November 3, but demanded a refund after discovering that it was faulty.
“I ordered an earbud from Jumia and it was not working. So, I asked why they would not check a product before delivering it to a customer,” he said. “So, I demanded that my money be refunded.”
“The online shopping company insisted that they had refunded my money but I didn’t see it and they instructed me to check Kuda bank,” he continued. “They even shared with me receipts of the refund.”
Okutu further contacted Kuda Bank but to no avail.
“I complained to Kuda and they said that I should share details of the receipt; which I did. I’m still waiting for a refund,” he said.
When WikkiTimes contacted Kuda Bank’s official line, the number was not reachable. At press time, an email sent to the bank had also not been responded to.
